Oamaru Harness Racing Club Inc Sun 29 January
Oamaru Sunday brings a full 10 race card. Big fields on the grass make for some nice dividends if we can find them.
Best Bet R1 #3 Misty Magic. 2nd $1.20 Each-way R4 #8 Kid Galahad. 3rd $1.30 R1 #3 Misty Magic. Stormed home wide and late at the Mott last time out. From the draw she'll be hard to beat in what is a mediocre lineup here. 2nd $1.20 #7 Village Terror. Is still learning her trade but is improving with every race day start. Drawn out a little here. Grass is no problem as she has had West Coast starts and form behind her. Place. #8 Citric Suzie. Raced in terrible conditions at Forbury Thursday night. Led up and wilted when under race pressure. May be better suited to a sit off the pace here. I would give her a chance to rebound here. R3 #2 Enoughs Enuff. Led and won handily at Mott before begin demoted for what looked like a minor affair. Should pass maidens without the stips report here. 2nd $1.50 #6 Low On Wine. Tough type who was racing in great heart on the Nelson circuit. Didn't have all the luck up there but is forward in condition. The biggest threat to the #2. 3rd $1.70 #12 Gracious Belle. Speed merchant who did it all wrong on debut at Omakau. Solid trial since. Has nice enough blood. Can feature here with the right run. 4th #10 Simon Sivad.Won before being disqualified at Blenheim. Drawn awkwardly here over the 2000m . Has talent. Include in combinations. 1st $6.60 2.20. Quinells $6.50. Trifecta $77.40. First 4 $381.30 R4 #8 Kid Galahad. Was heavily supported at Nelson. Raced with merit and little luck. Looks to come in here nicely, R May sticks with him here. Each-way claims. 3rd $1.30 #1 Zest Philly. She can do things wrong but is too good to drop. With manners she may find herself in behind the leader. This isn;t a strong field. Include. #5 Loose Cannon. Looked like passing maidens quickly in his first campaign but hasn't shown that form this time in. Slight improvement at Oamaru on the grit last time. Can do things wrong which won't do here. If he brings his "A" game he's a each-way chance. 2nd $2.80 R6 #1 Aylesham. Big tough type who won't mind the 3200m at all.Raced well last week for 4th in the amateur series. Comes in nice on handicaps. Each-way claims. 1st $7.40 2.50 #5 Taimate Boyz. Run had merit at Rangiora after doing work the last 600m out wide. Has always promised a lot and failed to deliver. Gets his chance in the small field here. R7 #2 Radar. Value here. Going great guns for his new stable. Broke, tacked on, went wide a long way out at Addington 20/1. Looks to have stepped up and she'll have to here. Nice field. Value pick #5 Falcon Crown. Great front runner whose drawn to dictate proceedings here. Was brave in behind Ohoka Texas last time out. This field is much easier. Can win. 2nd $1.90 #13 Wee Brother. Mixes his form but can go the distance. As stated this isn't the greatest field he faced recently. With the right sit he'll have a bit to offer with 200 to go. Multiples. R8 #3 Chal Dream. Forward efforts recently and was good from a sit at Mott when last seen. Tough type who always gives his all. Can lead here and give a good sight. 2nd $2.20 |
