#14 Highland Reign. Coming off a very good second in the feature race at Waimate last week. The draw is slightly problematic given her racing style which tends to be sit / sprint but on overall ability and racing form she must be put on top in this. The driver isn't too bad and with any luck she should be hard to beat. 1st $2.90 1.60

#10 Chloe. Is she'd drawn the front then I'd very bullish about her chances. The stand start manners are sound and she definitely has the ability to win this. An even looking affair though so will need a bit of luck to win from the inside second line. 2nd $1.50

#1 Spurred By Success. Decent runs lately and hits a field that lacks depth today. He's no star so will need to get away with them and do little work. Each-way claims with place-heavy bets preferred. 3rd $1.90

#6 Just Ben. I'd prefer him over a stand but we'll have to work with the mobile start today. Genuine type and has form on the track. Not the strongest field and his recent workout here was good. The Methven run should be dismissed because of the fact he locked wheels early and had to make up extra ground. 3rd $1.90
#11 Leading The Way. Came from off the pace at Waimate and his previous runs have been good. Seems to be enjoying his work at the moment and has the ability to get into this late if able to settle near enough to them. 1st $6.50 2.50

#9 Aymar. The enigma. Drawn wide but may well look for the front today. Ottley on will help. Does tend to over-race but can feature at a price in this. 1st $5.10 2.50

#7 Clasina Maria. Notably run last start when giving a strong field plenty at the start. The mobile should ensure a clean getaway today. Very strong course statistics. Looks one of the better chances today. 4th
#2 Errol Finn. Drawn inside most of the speed and may look for the front. Has sweated up badly in a few runs back so that would be my only concern. Going better than his form would indicate. Can place at odds. 3rd $4.50 ($6.00 Fixed Win)

#7 All About Henry. Used gate-speed to lead last start and only got caught late in the run. Back to his favoured grass today and he should again forge forward to the business end early. I like race conditions. He's got fitness on his side. Another sound bet. 1st $6.80 2.40. Quinella $41.40. Trifecta $277.80
#1 Buckeye. Never got into things at Oamaru but drawn to be doing no work at all today and should show himself late on the passing lane. A each-way prospect given race conditions. 3rd $1.90
#12 She'sa Tricky Bridge. Got crossed by a couple too many at Waimate and found limited room in the run home. The second line draw looks a little ugly but it may be an assist to her chances given she needs to be out and running to give her best. I do require around $4 a place though. 2nd $3.30
