An interesting day at Geraldine on the grass here with some big even fields presented. One eye on the weather throughout this grass track weekend with a lot of rain forecast

#2 Young Stranger. Nice workout last week at Methven and he's been going well in recent times with an unlucky effort on the grass at Methven prior. Does like the track too. The early getaway must be alright here as the shorter trip means that on speed runners will benefit. Can outmuscle most of these. #6 Dadndave. Has always shown enough to pass maidens and did come from well off them at Ashburton to get into contention late there. The stand start seems alright. Just a question over the grass stand. He'll most probably be saved up for one run at them today but does have the speed to get over the top of most here. 2nd $1.50

#9 Ava Adore. If she'd drawn closer in I'd be fairly certain of a strong performance. Has form in behind smart fields and ran a nice 2600m on the all weather in good time at Addington recently. She has grass track workout form too. Drawn wide but may look to go forward and tough things out. The value today. 1st $13.10 3.80

#1 Beau Vista. Has put in some good efforts on grass and has sound stand statistics. Will appreciate a run on the markers as he does have the ability to find the line from a cold sit. Good each-way claims today. 2nd $2.10
