A good days racing in store for us at Marlborough on the grass. I've included a couple of selections that may well produce better second day runs but are hard to leave out today.

#5 Steel Legend. Some decent Westport runs and sound manners bring him into calculations here. The Gameson stable also has a decent run here in the past. A sound stand start should see him competitive today. 3rd $1.80

#10 The Dude. Shows a little speed when saved for one run at them so should have something to give late here from the inside draw. The fortunes do fall on the #1 getting out and staying in the lead or at worst in the trail but I'm confident of him running a decent race here. 1st $5.10 1.50

#12 Eureka. Is a decent horse that is generally ready to go when taking a slight freshen up. Ricky on today from a poor draw. He'll need to be put into the race today over the short distance to be a factor. One of the horses that hasn't quiet got the race conditions to be super confident about but should be covered on ability alone. 1st $3.10 2.00 ($4.50 fixed win)

#10 Clasina Maria. Goes her best races fresh over the stands and that's what we had got today. Will need the field to be compact enough turning for home as she's got a potent sprint but can't be too far off them turning in. Each-way prospect. 1st $7.70 2.80
