#8 Queen Of Strathfield. Going with the exposed form here. A nice start to the career can continue here. A front running effort looks likely from this nice draw too. 2nd $1.60

#4 Verstappen. Has ok trial and workout form. Only a small thing that does have a touch of speed about him. Can play a major part if able to get away and lead initially. I'd like to see a lead / trail scenario. One at odds first up for a stable that does get them going well enough. $2.80 place fixed. 3rd $2.70

#4 Play Dough. Manners key with this horse but does like both the grass and Methven. Broke from on the speed last time out but better suited here. Must get away though. A decent each-way chance from on the speed with manners. $2.40 place. 3rd $2.50

#6 Bettor Fly. Is a nice horse with grass track credentials. Tough run first up which would be the main concern or question as we hope that hasn't flattened her. Nice options from the draw and is up to most here. Each-way. 3rd $1.70

#4 John James Preston. Is an above average maiden who has good form behind some decent types. Options from the draw but also has the motor to get over them late if close enough turning in. Strong each-way. 3rd $1.70
#2 Neyveli Franco. Drawn to have a dip for an early lead and showed enough at Methven trials to be competitive here. Probably the only time we'll have a look at this horse if unable to run a decent race under these conditions. 1st $4.00 1.90. Quinella $11.90. Trifecta $59.10
#10 Cristiano Buccini. Will have something to offer from the cold sit draw. Good trial last week and hasn't had all the luck in races so far. Consider an outside win chance and include in all combinations. 2nd $1.70

#2 Ashes To Ashes. Just getting a touch tougher of late and can get away well from the tapes. Hits a weak field and should be competitive here. Each-way chance 2nd $1.60

#17 Gil Favor. A big even trot field with some decent types but this horse ticks a lot of boxes. High strike-rate trainer and the horse has excellent grass credentials. Tough and will be thereabouts if put into things here. 2nd $1.60 $2.40 fixed place
