A great day out at Methven today with a huge 12 race card. Some big fields to get through. Most of our selections should give decent sights toay although we'll need some mid-race luck to truly prosper giving the numbers in these fields.

#15 Already Gone. Has been hitting the line very well in its last couple of starts and was taken out of things at Waimate early but found the line well late. The draw and field size means luck is needed to get into this. Lottie Moon and Morningstar Gold are likely to take money although I'm happy to bet against them. Each-way chances. 2nd $2.20

#8 Midnight Assassin. Colin on a horse he part owns here. I liked the Banks run although I'm not entirely sure he was trying too hard up the lane. Looks a nice enough draw here. If he can get away with them then provides us with a strong each-way claim. 1st $3.90 1.80

#7 Victor Tango. Invariably steps and runs initially and I did like the Waimate run when doing work and boxing on alright. The extra distance isn't ideal but he'll be on-speed and should give a decent each-way sight today. 2nd $1.90 ($3.10 Fixed Place)
#1 Magical Melissa. Is doing enough to warrant respect here. I just don't like the draw as she can be slow and fractious. If she does getaway then and can maintain a position near the speed on the pegs then she'd be the favourite to win here. I've got her second here because of the questions over the start. 1st $2.60 1.60. Quinella $8.20

#1 Bushman. Again the draw isn't ideal but he's tougher than these and is out of a stable that continues to score goals. A leading chance in a weak field. 1st $1.80 1.20 ($2.20 Fixed Win)

#2 BK Dawn. really does need to be included in thoughts from the draw. May well settle in the elad or trail and I can't see all that many mid-race moves here. Is down on her best but looms as her best chance to score a win for a while. 1st $4.40 1.70

#5 Unico Enchantress. Is the quality of this field. Has a distinct "tactical speed" advantage over anything here. I'm not sure of the early tactics... A running line sit 3 back should see an undeniable bid late. 1st $2.50 1.30 ($3.00 Fixed Win)

#3 Gotta Future. Continues the strong grass track with Waimate effort from on the speed. Gets another good draw here. Nimah Franco may be the spoiler here as that horse can get away well from the tapes too but I'm confident of a decent turn from the Stevenson runner today. 3rd $2.30
#1 Tiebreaker. Has a bit of speed about him and bred to win more than just the #1. The markers tends to be kind to runners here so expect a decent run if able to remain near the speed. 4th

#11 Mad Lu li. You always know what you'll get with this horse. I like the draw and Cox should put her into the race here. Honest type who demands inclusion. 3rd $1.60
#3 Bobby T. Racing well. Put into the race at Waimate and luckless prior at Banks. Fit and going well. May find a couple too strong here but one for odds with a sight into Banks on the 17th. 2nd $2.80
