A nice days racing in store for us on Sunday at Methven with the country cups final and 2yr old trot race the features on what looks to be a highly competitive days racing. A few 3000m races also look like stringing some of these fields out.

#7 Habibi Inta. He's a lovely big horse and delivered first up late on the passing lane. He's a long way off growing into his imposing frame so he'll be a little vulnerable early in his career but he still looms as a big chance in this. Would not like to get too far back off the speed in this. On top if put into the race early enough. 1st $1.80 1.20. Quinella $4.00
#6 Enghien. Impressive win first up and you got the feeling he had a little more to give. I'd prefer Ricky to launch forward early here and attempt to dictate from the top of the race. If driven that way I think he's the main threat to the #7. 2nd $1.70

#8 Distinctive Del. Out of a distinctive family of performers. Good stand start wins at workouts and trials recently and does have a good turn of foot late. Nice wide draw to operate from. Can score first up. 1st $2.20 1.70

#3 Caitlin Franco. Generally away safely from the stands and tends to prefer the grass track racing. 3000m will test most of these and from what I've seen of these races a lack of mid-race moves means on speed runners should prosper. Each-way claims. 2nd $1.90 ($2.00 Fixed Place)

#4 Ashes To Wings. A mare who is racing in good form at the moment with the last start being very sound after sitting parked throughout the running and sticking on well. Dexter jumps on today and tends to get the best out of this horse. Other rivals haven't been all that impressive with Clasina Maria (likely to use gate-speed) being a little flat in workouts and Pay Me Art being drawn wide. #10 Seel The Deal. A real humdinger of a country cups final field assembled. I really liked his run behind Costa Del Magnifico last start when doing a fair bit of work. He's a proven stand start horse who likes the grass. Tactical race which sees him having to be bought into the race over the last 800m. Each-way claims. 2nd $1.40
#11 Cullect A Guinness. A revelation on grass and looks well placed in the handicaps here. May well look to go around and get the lead mid-race (Graduate Under fire may well lead early) If that's the case he'll be a hard horse to run down. Main danger. 1st $3.90 1.50. Quinella $3.40
