SELECTIONS RUNNING IN THE FIRST FOUR POSITIONS 13

Course: Addington

Surface: All weather

Welcome into the New Zealand cup meeting preview for this year. We've selected both runners we like and added combinations runners for those that like to have a go for the big dividends. It does promise to be a great days racing so we hope enjoy the action!

R1 GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND HANDICAP TROT 3200m stand. (not pace as told in audio!)
The traditional extreme distance trot to start the day off.
#4 Eyre I Come. This race tends to be won off the front and I can see him jumping to near the speed in this. His cup trial was sound in behind the impressive Harriet Of Mot. His first up run was also good after leading up in a decent overall time. He's probably best leading although I'd prefer him to obtain a mid-race sit in behind a horse like Father Christmas. Each-way claims.  4th

R2 HYDROFLOW MOBILE PACE  $20,000, 4YO & OLDER MARES C1 TO C2, 2600m
An even looking line-up here with race conditions not really favouring many at all.
#14 Lovetodream. I've got her being able to do more work in the race than any other runner so the 2600m is suitable. Impeccable record really and has really come on in recent outings. Each-way claims.  4th

Combination runners (open field )
Lightning Mach. Who was sound first up after good trial form
Nerida Franco. Who has the best race conditions out of anyone here although I'd question her absolute quality against these.
Art Critic.Who was very good at Ashburton but is best over the shorter trips.
Sans Le Sou. Will need a sit but does box on well.

R3 RNP HOMES LTD HANDICAP TROT  $20,000, 4YO & OLDER C4 TO OC SPECIAL, 2600m
#4 Prince Fearless. Was in top form when winning at Ashburton and you get the feeling he had a lot more in the tank at the end of that race. He's looking like coming back into the form that made him a dominate force early in his career. 2600m suits well for this tough staying type. Needs to be respected and is on top for us.  1st $2.70 1.50

R4 TYRE GENERAL MOBILE PACE  $20,000, 3YO & OLDER C1, 1950m
#4 Nero Star. Our best value selection of the day at very decent odds is on top. He's a superb type in the flesh and  has drawn beautifully for his racing style. He's led them up last start and only got run down late in a very solid time. He'll strip a fitter horse for this and be a good each-way chance if he's able to find the front and dictate the tempo for a furlong or two. Watch for Dalgety runners to attempt to dictate the race early though...  2nd $2.60

R5 FAHEY FENCE HIRE FREE-FOR-ALL (MOBILE PACE) (Gr3)  $35,000, FFA, 2600m
#10 Have Faith in Me. Most probably the fastest horse in New Zealand as shown by the mammoth effort shown at Ashburton when breaking early only to find the line very well late. He's got a couple of decent stable-mates here to set up a decent clip for him to unwound off late. very hard to hold out.  1st $1.20 1.00

Combinations
Bit Of A legend. Who is markedly down in grade for this even though this is a nice field.
Itz Bettor To Win. Possible open class pacer in the making himself. Good win at Ashburton and should play a part in this from his cosy draw.

R6 GRANITE BENCHTOP COMPANY NZ TROTTING FREE-FOR-ALL (MOBILE) (Gr1)  $80,000, FFA, 1950m
#2 Monbet. A bit of a rockstar at the moment with a effortless trial win last Wednesday. The Ashburton last 800m in 55.8 was exceptional too. Obviously drawn the #2 he'll need to be wary of speed coming across early. He's in super shape for this and looks very hard to beat against some nice trotters here.  1st $1.60 1.00
#1 One Over Da Moon. No surprises here as he'll be on the speed throughout. Caught them napping at Ashburton but may not get that opportunity in this. Strong quinella hope.  4th

Combinations
Habibti. May look to go forward early.
Daryl Boko. who does possess speed so this will be an interesting debut for him in New Zealand
Kincaslough. Who is improving but has drawn wide in this.

R7 NRM SIRES STAKES SERIES No.32 FINAL (MOBILE PACE) (Gr1)  $170,000, 3YO COLTS & GELDINGS, 1950m
#11 Lazarus. A real speed merchant drawn awkwardly behind a horse who can do things wrong when at full tilt. He's shown a real ability to find the line from off the pace and this race is won by the best horse at the time of running. He may have to work a little harder for it today but still looms as the main chance in this.  1st $1.70 1.30
#15 Shandale. The main threat I'd imagine even from the wide barrier. He's all class as shown by some great recent runs at Alexandra Park. With any luck in the running he can be right in this.

Combinations
Art Form
Cash N Flow who has really shown his quality as a three year old this season.

R8 PASCOES THE JEWELLERS HANDICAP PACE  $20,000, 3YO & OLDER C2 TO C3 SPECIAL, 2600m
An open affair with a even looking field.
#2 Benicio. Isn't a top-liner by any means but his draw does give him an advantage in this.  1st $1.40 1.20
#12 Uncle Ben. Maybe slightly forgotten amongst the Canterbury pacers but he's been excellent his last few starts and can't be ignored.

Combinations
Return To Sender
Tangos Delight

R9 AVON CITY FORD MOBILE PACE  $20,000, 4YO & OLDER C3 TO C4, C5 WITH COND., 2600m
#2 Cullect A Guinness. He's far better getting to the lead early and staying there which is whta he presented with via the draw today. He should run them along anyway. He'll give a decent sight here
#8 Major Bubbles. Is being labelled by Cran as a very forward horse today and most probably gets into this well given his recent runs in behind class animals. He will see out the 2600m.

Combinations
Alta Leroy
Maverick
That Guy Finn

R10 CHRISTCHURCH CASINO NEW ZEALAND TROTTING CUP (Gr1)  $750,000, FFA PACE, 3200m
#15 Sky Major. Looks ready to rumble after a classy win in the cup trial. He has been dealt a tough draw to operate from with favoured runners drawing the front row which will not make his assignment easy. Sound in all lead up races. On top.
# 5 Smolda. Has benefitted from excellent runs in transit this time in but need to be right in thoughts for the main prize in this. Should be thereabouts early but can't afford to get stuck in a running line that is getting shuffled.  2nd $1.60
#4 Ohoka Punter. The best served by the barrier draws. He's been solid in lead-up events and the Ashburton run in particular was very good. Herlihy should look to get forward, lead and possibly hand up for a saloon passage home late.
#8 Arden Rooney. We saw what he is capable of at Kaikoura and he'll cover the 3200m best out of the field I'd imagine. The leader will know he's in a race if Manning chooses to sit parked once again today. Must be included.  1st $7.80 2.60.  Quinella $13.50

Combinations
Tiger Tara who will awlays give a great sight.
Messini. Who has emerged as a real contender after a blistering last 800m at Kaikoura.
Mossdale Connor. His racing style probably is best when handing so I can't see him winning but he is capable of getting a minor end of the prize
No Doctor Needed. The bolter for first fours if he steps and relaxes in the running. Good cup trial.

R11 THE RECRUITMENT NETWORK TROT  $20,000, 4YO & OLDER C1, 2600m
A very open looking race. Not a lot of thoughts from Tipstar in this some audio suggestions

R12 BLUE STAR TAXIS MOBILE PACE  $20,000, 3YO & OLDER C2, 1950m
#15 Motu Premier. Although he's drawn the car park he still looks the quality on paper and he's certainly well placed in this C2 race. A couple of scratchings have helped his cause. He'll be put into the race and asked to tough it out late.  1st $2.80 1.50
#11 Mcardle Star. A super effort first up when asked to sit 3 wide from around the 900m mark and he still fought on bravely to the line. He should only improve on that run. Expect a forward showing.
#6 Little Rascal. Known gate-speed type who should have a early look for the front in this. He did things well after a tough run throughout last start.  3rd 2.10

Combinations
Piccadilly Princess
Downunder Stride
