A very interesting and competitive day of racing for us at Timaru. I've been hard pressed to find many due to the even nature of most of these fields. I think it looks a day when you could be dictated to by the odds and the fact that decent chances could float out to value odds

#11 Cullens Joy. A limited prospect but I was taken by her late work at Oamaru and her runs here have had merit. She'll need luck to remain near enough to the speed to be a factor today. I wouldn't take the $6 on offer. I think that's a little tight. Each-way at value if she moves out in the market. 1st $7.40 2.30

#6 Delightful Tanner. The scratching of Bringitonholme appears to opened this race up a little. I do like this horse on type. She's a half sister to Eric Clapton who, besides being able to play a decent riff, could also run a little. Cox and her team is going sound races lately. I think she'll suit the Phar Lap. I'd like to see her press forward early as the front may well be there for her. 4th

#1 Bird Of Paradise. Is arguably the best horse in the race. Another interesting scenario early with early speed present in the form of Game Changer. Some Legend isn't a star either... I'd like to see Dexter attempt to hold the front.. Each-way if able to get some luck in the running. 1st $5.70 1.80
