I thought the track was off and poor on the first day which is the main reason for the limited selections today. That would actually be the concern for the immediate future too with Canterbury having a ridiculous amount of rain recently.

#10 Dennis Denuto. Wanting to make Westport his Bonnie Doon today. Made good ground and showed dynamic speed day one. Has options from this draw today. Should give a sound account of himself today. Could be buying himself a home (a castle) if able to get up today. 2nd $1.40

#7 Malinka. Is a local favourite and likely to play a part late in this given the poor field strength. Also comes into the mobile which is much preferred for this horse over the stand of the first day. Nice value at at $11 and 3 on opening. 4th
